Masdar unveils solar power plant in Spain

Abu Dhabi's Masdar has launched a concentrated solar power plant aimed at providing 25,000 homes in Spain's Andalusia region with sustainable answer to their energy needs. The 19.9 MW Gemasolar project, a joint venture between Masdar and Torresol Energy, boasts a central tower receiver and molten salt heat storage technology. The plant will help reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30,000 tonne per annum.
