Methanex to close down plant in Egypt

15 November 2011: The methanol supplier, Canada's Methanex Corp is to shut down its plant in Egypt due to political unrest in the country. The Vancouver-based firm, which supplies methanol to markets in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, said the plant will be restarted in a timely manner, once order has been restored in the area. The Egyptian facility started commercial operations in March.
