Oman integrated steel plant to go on stream in January
23 August 2010: Oman's first integrated steel plant, Shadeed Iron and Steel is scheduled to commence commercial operations in January 2011.
The project, which was recently acquired by Indian steel-making firm Jindal Steel and Power, is currently nearing completion at the Port of Sohar. Cold commissioning of the plant is to begin operations in October.
