Oman's Sohar University plans expansion
9 August 2010: Oman's Sohar University is received a $103.9 million (approx Rs 477.94 crore) facelift that will greatly expand the institution over the next decade.
The first phase of the expansion will include the adding of a new Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Business and the Learning Resources Centre and Lecture Theatres Complex. The 220,000 sq mtrs expansion is expected to take around 12 years to complete, at which time the university will be able to accommodate up to 12,000 students.
