Qatar Railways Company to award first construction contract in July 2012

26 September 2011: Qatar Railways Company (Q Rail)'s first construction contract for the country's planned QR130bn ($36bn) rail network will be awarded by July 2012. The contractors had until September 25 to submit initial EoIs for the integrated rail project, which will include the $35bn Doha Metro as well as national freight and long distance passenger lines.
