Qatargas inks EPC contract for Plateau Maintenance Project
26 February 2010: Qatargas has signed an EPC contract with TCJV, a JV between Technip and Chiyoda, to ensure that the production capacity of Qatargas 1 is maintained well into the future.
The Plateau Maintenance Project (PMP) has been initiated to meet the need for increased feed gas rates from offshore wells and to augment onshore plant processing facilities in order to handle the additional volumes. This project will enable Qatargas 1 to maintain its current production level of 10 million tpa of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The EPC contract with TCJV covers the design and execution of the onshore processing facilities scope of the PMP.
