Saudi Aramco plans to ramp up refining capacity

17 January 2011: The state-owned firm is expected to raise its refining capacity to 8 million barrels per day (bpd), as it increases downstream investments. The new figure exceeded a goal Al-Falih cited last year for a 50 per cent increase in capacity to over 6 million barrels per day (bpd). Over the next decade our total global refining capacity is expected to approach 8m barrels per day.
