Saudi firm acquires stake in CEGCO
15 Jun 2011: A Saudi Arabia based company ACWA Power International takes a stake in Jordan's Central Electricity Generation Company (CEGCO) with the production capacity of about 6,485MW.
ACWA Power International develops privately owned and financed power generation and desalinated water production plants had inked an agreement with Jordan Dubai Capital which owns a 65 per cent stake in Enara Energy Investments, which in turn holds 51 per cent ownership of CEGCO with the transaction values of $144 million (Rs 640.38 crore).CEGCO is the power generator in Jordan, with seven power generation complexes nationwide of about 1,700 MW of power capacity.
