Saudi government plans to build refinery on Red Sea
12 October 2011: The Saudi government is planning to build a major refinery on the Red Sea at a cost of SR20bn ($5.3bn) . Scheduled for completion within three years, the proposed refinery will produce petroleum products that will be used for petrochemical industries, according to the Royal Commission for Yanbu (RCY). It will be the third largest refinery on the west coast of Saudi Arabia.
