Sipchem commences construction of two plants
Saudi International Petrochemical Co (Sipchem) has commenced building two plants at a total value of SR3.35bn ($893.3m), as part of its expansion plan. The first factory, which will cost around SR3bn, will produce 2,00,000 tpa of vinyl acetate, with operations set for launch by the second quarter of 2013. The second plant will cost around SR350m and will produce 1,00,000 tpa of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate. The facility is expected to come on stream in the first quarter of 2013.
