Syria signs deals to generate 5,000 MW of electricity
24 February 2010: Syria has signed deals worth $5 billion to generate 5,000 MW of electricity by December 2013.
Syria is facing a growing demand for electricity that ranges between 8 per cent and 10 per cent annually and it estimates its electricity deficit at 3,000 to 4,000 MW per hour, according to sources.
