University Hospital Sharjah opens its doors to patients
16 July 2011: The University Hospital is open to receive patients for treatment. The hospital have built special decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme President of the University of Sharjah, is located next to the University City complex.
The cost of the hospital and its state of the art equipment is well over one billion dirhams and it will make a quantum leap in healthcare services and medical treatment not only in UAE but also in the GCC and Middle East.
The Hospital consists of Outpatient and Inpatient facilities, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, a Radiology and Imaging department (which have cutting edge technology in the field of medical diagnostics), Operating Rooms, Intensive Care, NeoNatal Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Endoscopy and a comprehensive range of Surgery (including Gastrointestinal and Urology), Medicine (including Cardiology, Rheumatology, Diabetology, Endocrinology, Pulmonary sub specialties), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics and will soon be adding ENT, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and a number of other departments as the Hospital opens to its full 210 bed capacity towards the end of this year.
