Villupuram-Mayiladuthurai BG line opening to be delayed
24 February 2010: The opening of the Villupuram-Mayiladuthurai broad gauge line in Tamil Nadu is likely to be delayed.
The delay is likely to be caused further as the Commissioner of Railway Safety has informed Southern Railway that he would make only a preliminary inspection of the newly laid converted track on 25 and 26 February 2010 and a final inspection will be made sometime later. Rail Vikas Nigam has executed the project.
