WB funds for Cairo Airport
24 February 2010: The World Bank (WB) on 23 February 2010 approved a loan of $ 280 million to support Cairo Airport Development Project (CADP) Second Terminal Building (TB2).
The project has two components. The first component of the project is rehabilitation and expansion of the TB2 at Cairo International Airport. The second component of the project is technical assistance and studies to strengthen the institutional capacity of the sector's institutions.
The construction of a new terminal on the site of the existing Terminal Building 2 with a capacity up to 7.5 million passengers per annum, increases the overall capacity to 25 million passengers per annum
