Zain Iraq to begin operations in Kurdistan in 2011
24 August 2010: Zain Iraq will start operating in Iraqi Kurdistan in January 2011 and expects to boost its subscriber base by up to two million in 2011. Zain is reportedly the biggest operator in the country and has invested $4.5 billion (approx Rs 20,925 crore) in its network after securing a 15-year license for $1.25 billion (approx Rs 5,812.5 crore) in 2007.
