A facility for totally disabled Sri Lankan war veterans

31 May 2011: Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka President, on 30 May 2011, opened a facility, "Mihindu Seth Madura" constructed by the Ministry of Defense for the care of totally disabled Sri Lankan war veterans.

The facility located in a 46-acre land in Aththidiya in Colombo district was built at a cost of 140 million rupees. It provides life time accommodation for 50 totally disabled soldiers. The facility is equipped with an exercise unit for physical rehabilitation, a modern kitchen, and facilities designed to accommodate totally disabled persons. The 04th Engineering Corps of Sri Lanka Army constructed the facility.
