Bangladesh to reopen Adamji Jute Mills

24 June 2010: The Bangladesh Government is likely to reopen the Adamji Jute Mills soon installing 500 looms initially at a cost of Taka 306 crore.

Under the Phase I, 500 looms are to be installed at No. 2 Shed on 11 acre at the mills and later another 500 looms will be installed. The fund for reopening the mills will be disbursed from block allocation of the government.

The government has taken initiatives to reopen five jute mills, including Adamji, considering increasing demand for jute and jute goods both at local and international markets.
