Bhutan to have Hindu temple
12 October 2011 : Bhutan will soon have its first Hindu temple. The foundation stone laying ceremony at Kuenselphondrang was held in the presence of national assembly speaker and ministers in the country's capital Thimphu.
Built on an area of 2.53 acres, the temple will have touches of Buddhist architecture and will organise festivals and marriage ceremonies catering to the need of more than 10,000 Hindus living in Himalayan kingdom. The temple which will be built within two years will work for assimilation of Buddhist and Hindu culture in royal kingdom which always had a cordial relation with its big neighbour India.
