Chinese assistance develops Sri Lanka's Institute of Technology

4 November 2011: The Sri Lankan government has sought Chinese financial assistance to relocate and develop the Institute of Technology currently located in the campus of the Moratuwa University.

The Cabinet has given its approval to a proposal brought forward by the Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayake to move the Institute of Technology to a new premise at Diyagama, Homagama and to develop with the financial assistance from the Government of China. The project has been identified as an important priority project on the basis of the recommendations made by the Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet.
