Colombo Dockyard PLC builds ship for India

29 October 2010: Colombo Dockyard PLC has handed over the second passenger ship built by Sri Lanka to India. The ship named 'MV Lakshadweep Sea' is to transport passengers between the mainland and Lakshadweep Islands of India. The ship can accommodate 250 passengers with luxury facilities. Colombo Dockyard received Rs 200 crore from India to build the ship, second of the two ships ordered by India.
