Emergency wards planned in ten district hospitals
25 November 2009: The Punjab Government is likely to spend Rs 1,200 crore on setting up ultra modern emergency wards in ten district headquarters of the province.
Under the programme medical facilities and CT Scan and MRI services are likely to be made available in these emergency wards while the patients are expected to get diagnostic facilities under one roof. The work on the project is likely to begin soon.
This apart, the state government is planning to establish four medical colleges including one at Sialkot. Initial work on Sialkot medical college has already begun.
