Fiat plant at Sri Lanka's Kelanitissa power station to be shipped for renovations
The open cycle gas turbine known as the Fiat Avio plant GT7 at the Kelanitissa power station is planned to be shipped to Italy for renovations.
Once refurbished, the 115 MW plant is to be re-commissioned at the Kelanitissa power station as a stand-by generator to generate power during emergency situations. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is expected to spend between 3.7 million to 5 million Euros for the renovation.
