Hambanthota harbor area construction to begin next year
3 March 2011: The construction of the factories in the vicinity of the newly-opened Hambanthota Magampura Harbor in Sri Lanka will begin next month. The Sri Lanka Ports Authority had received 27 applications from investors, of them 23 were approved.
Factories to manufacture cement, iron, fertilizer, and sugar and factories for food procession are being considered currently. Indian, Pakistani, Singapore, and European investors are among the industrialists.
