Honda to build a car plant in Mexico
1 August 2011: Japan based Honda Motor plans to build a new plant in Mexico to produce cars for the North American market
Construction on the plant may start in 2012 near Honda's existing factory in Jalisco. The company plans to spend about 20 billion yen on the investment, with the plant's initial production capacity expected to be 100,000 vehicles a year.
The new facility is to begin operations in 2014.
