Japan invited to set up special economic zone

13 December 2010: Japan Bangladesh Development Authority (JBDA) invited Japanese investors to come up with large investment projects in Bangladesh, including factories for Japan’s leading manufacturers, given that foreign investment is secured and highly profitable in the country.

Japanese investors were also encouraged to set up a special economic zone, like the Korean EPZ, either in Chittagong or North Bengal by utilizing Bangladesh’s business and investment-friendly environment.
