Orphans Relief Centre to come up in Mirpur

25 November 2009: A complex of Orphans Relief Centre at the cost of Rs 16.5 crore is being constructed at Mirpur in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) under the auspices of the private-sector Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT) on self-help basis coupled with the heavy financial contributions of UK-based Kashmiri expatriates, besides the local philanthropists.

AJK Government has allotted and reserved the site for the proposed complex near Khaliqabad in the outskirts of Mirpur. It will be for the rehabilitation of orphan and helpless children where facilities to house at least a thousand orphan children will be available.
