Pakistan to float garment city project for investors
14 July 2010: The Pakistan Government, in its bid to aid small and medium entrepreneurs from the apparel sector has decided to set up a ‘Karachi Garment City Company’, which will offer space and other such facilities to the investors from the sector.
The project to come up on a 300-acre plot at Karachi Port Qasim Authority is likely to be launched soon. The project is likely to blend together, varied groups of the sewing and stitching units, so as to prepare exclusive apparels for export purpose, as also to advance an opportunity to the small and medium entrepreneurs to come out with value-added attires and accessories.
