Production at Thakurgaon rental plant dips

9 December 2010: The 50-MW rental power plant could not generate more than 25mw per day since it went into full-fledged operation five months ago.

The private power plant adds only 20-25 MW to national grid everyday and could never generate more since going to test operation on July 12 as it was built with sub- standard materials and being run by inefficient people.

Besides, low quality generators, transformers and other machinery are being used to generate power.

Meanwhile, one of the two newly- installed 10-megavolt transformers developed technical fault and stopped recently further decreasing power generation capacity of the plant, set up by Rahimafrooz near Road Rail Station in the town.
