Rental power plant to be inaugurated
20 November 2010: The 232-MW rental power plant (RPP) is likely to be inaugurated at Karachi Port Trust (KPT) shortly.
The plant will be formally inducted in the national grid for power generation on 21 November 2010. After the ceremony, it will be sailed to the Ibrahim Haideri harbour where it will be connected to the Korangi Thermal Station on 24 November 2010. A Turkish ship carrying the power plant had anchored at the Karachi Port on Thursday. The ship sailed from Tuzla port of Turkey brought the rental power plant with a 232 megawatt power generation capacity, will shift the plant to the Korangi thermal power plant on 20 November 2010.
