Road construction to complete by July 2011 in Sri Lanka
15 June 2011: Sri Lanka's southern city of Galle (situated 119 km from Columbo) is to complete construction of toll expressway by July 2011, with charge undecided.
The construction is financed 31.6 km
by the Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC) and 29.3 km segment by
the Asian Development Bank. The 135 km toll road stretches from Sri Lanka's
capital Colombo to Matara. Presently, 20 percent of the work of the last stretch
of the 95 kilometer expressway is to be completed.
