Sri Lanka international airport to get huge fuel reserves
8 March 2011: Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation has planned to establish fuel storage with a capacity of three million liters at the country's second international airport that is being built at Mattala in Hambanthota district of Southern Province.
Initially it was decided to set up fuel storage of one million liters. But the government has anticipated a higher need of fuel since it will be an international airport. Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation bears all costs for the construction of the fuel storage and other constructions related to it.
