Sri Lanka to connect solar power plant to national grid soon
The Power and Energy Ministry of Sri Lanka is to connect the solar power plant at Baruthankanda in the Hambanthota District of Southern Province to the national grid soon, enabling solar power to become a major source of power in future.
The 500KW solar power plant project has cost Rs. 412 million and had been funded by the government of Korea. The newly developed plant is expected to provide power to a land extent of 1.5 hectares.
