Sri Lanka to establish fish factory
29 July 2011: Maldive fish production factory will be opened in the industrial park in Kalutara district in Sri Lanka soon.
Sri Lanka imported 6,000 to 8,000 metric tons of Maldive fish annually and the market price of a kilo of Maldive fish is around Rs. 2,000 now. There are hopes that the consumers will be able to purchase Maldive fish at half the price after this factory was set up.
