Sri Lanka to formulate energy policy by August

12 May 2011: The Sri Lanka Government has decided to formulate an energy policy by August this year in a bid to address the future challenges in the country's energy sector. The government is looking at alternative energy sources according to the global scenario in the future. It is looking at producing 654 MW of wind power. Meanwhile, the government has also asserted to make the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) a vibrant profit making enterprise.
