Sri Lanka, UK to strengthen bilateral trade ties

24 February 2011: Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom are planning to strengthen bilateral relations in a number of areas, particularly in the field of trade and business.

The decision was taken during the two days visit of Under-Secretary of State of the British Foreign and Alistair Burt Commonwealth Office to Sri Lanka. Both the countries have agreed to enhance bilateral relations with post-war Sri Lanka. During this visit, British Minister has provided an overview of the significant progress made with regard to resettlement, rehabilitation, and development, particularly in the North of the country following the end of conflict.
