Star class resort in Sri Lanka's Eastern coast
31 May 2011: Basil Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka Minister of Economic Development, on 30 May 2011, inaugurated a new star class resort at Pasikuda beach village, 300 km east of Colombo in Batticaloa district of Eastern Province.
It has been named as "Malu Malu Resort and Spa" after the livelihood of the residents of the village, fishing industry. The resort consists of 40 chalets designed with a typical Sri Lankan touch safeguarding the beauty of the natural environment of the beach. The hotel provides facilities for snorkeling, scuba diving, water sports such as wind surfing and kayaking.
