Telecommunication tower to open soon
1 June 2011: The newly built multipurpose communication tower at Kokawil of Mullaitivu District in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka is likely to be opened soon.
Telecommunication Regulatory Commission spent Rs 33 crore for the 175 mtrs tall tower that is considered the tallest in South Asia. The tower, which is Sri Lanka's first ever multi-channel broadcasting tower, will be allocated for the providers of services of high speed internet, radio, television, and telecommunications transmissions, as well as military communication operations.
