Thar coal project to be commenced soon
3 August 2011: The Thar coal project is expected to be operational from December 2013.
The 50 MW gasifier part of the project has almost been completed the project is estimated to cost Rs8.898 billion (approx Rs 889.8 crore). The finance ministery has accepted the demand for Rs 90 crore for machinery and equipment keeping in view the project`s importance and financial viability.
