Third seaport likely in Patuakhali
24 August 2010: The Bangladesh Government is planning to build third seaport in Patuakhali to facilitate economic activities of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the government is working on to enhance utilisation capacity of the Chittagong seaport. Currently, only 40 per cent capacity of the seaport is being utilised. The deep seaport will be useful for China and India and also other neighbouring countries of Bangladesh. Bangladesh will be financially benefited allowing the neighbouring counties including India and China to use its proposed deep sea port, according to sources.
