UP Investors Summit 2018
The Government of Uttar Pradesh organised Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit 2018 on 21- 22 February 2018 in Lucknow city. The two day event showcased investment opportunities and potential in various sectors such as textile, diary, IT, MSME, renewable energy among others.
Over 5,000 delegates attended the two day event. The Investors Summit involved Finland, the Netherlands, Japan, Czech Republic, Thailand, Slovakia and Mauritius as country partners for the event.
The state has attracted 1,045 memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with investment intents worth Rs 4.28 lakh crore. While Adani Group committed an aggregate investment of Rs 35,000 crore in sectors such as energy, logistics, solar power, roads and agriculture, Reliance Industries pledged to pour Rs 10,000 crore into the state in the next three years.
Another major announcement made during the summit was defence industrial corridor at Bundelkhand entailing an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. The proposed project will create employment opportunities for 2.5 lakh people. In the Financial Budget 2018, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced development of two defence industrial production corridors in the country, of this one will come up in Uttar Pradesh.
