Chhattisgarh a state in central India was formed when the sixteen Chhattisgarhi
speaking southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh gained statehood on November 1,
2000. It is the 10th largest state of India. Chhattisgarh derives its name from
36 (Chattis is thirty-six in Hindi and Garh is Fort) princely states in this region
from very old times. There is no single factor responsible for the creation of Chhattisgarh.
It is in fact a complex interplay of a combination of factors that paved the path
for a separate state
Projects Investment in Chattisgarh
According to the 42nd Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment conducted by Projects
Today, as of 31 March 2011, the state had 1,388 projects worth Rs
389,343 crore
in various stages of planning and implementation.
The State exhibited a projects implementation ratio of a
35.84 per cent, where as
the national average was 46.17per cent..
