Goa, an important tourist destination in India, is the second smallest state in the country. Previously a part of the Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu, Goa became the 25th state of the Indian Union on 30th May 1987. Goa has been divided into two districts viz., North and South and entire Goa comprises of 11 taluka. The languages most spoken here are konkani and Marathi.

Projects Investment in Goa

According to the 42nd Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment conducted by Projects Today, as of 31 March 2011, Goa had 367 projects worth Rs 9,422 crore in various stages of planning and implementation.

The state project implementation ratio of 26.73 per cent, which is around half of the national average was 46.17 per cent.
