Kerala also know as God's own Country was elevated to statehood by the States Reorganisation
Act of November 1, 1956. Blessed with the abundance of nature, the state attracts
a lot of tourists. Kerala's economy largely operates under the welfare-based democratic
socialist principles and though one of the smaller states in India in terms of area,
it is among the states with a very high population density and enjoys the distinction
of having the highest literacy rate in the country.
Project Investments in Kerala
According to the 42nd Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment conducted by ProjectsToday,
as of 31 March 2011, the state had 1,276 projects worth Rs
124,220 crore in various
stages of planning and implementation.
The latest project implementation ratio observed for the state was an insignificant
36.18 per cent, as compared to the national average of 46.17 per cent.
