Rajasthan is the largest state in term of area in the country and eight most populous.
The land of the of Raja's and Maharaja's attracts a lot of foreign tourist every
year.
The State is the largest producer of cement and third largest producer of salt in
the country. The state has abundant in mineral wealth and holds a share of about
24 per cent of India's total production of non-metallic minerals. It contributes
around 90 per cent of the national output of rock phosphate, 100 per cent of the
output of natural gypsum and 10 per cent of the output of limestone.
Projects Investment in Rajasthan
According to the 42nd Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment conducted by ProjectsToday, as of 31
March 2011, the desert state had 1,454 projects worth Rs
1,11,538 crore in various stages of planning and implementation.
The project implementation ratio observed for the state was 52.24 per cent, as against the national average of 46.17 per cent.
