Essar Construction bags first project abroad
May 13, 2008: Essar Construction (India) Limited (ECIL), Essar group's unlisted company, has bagged its first overseas construction project.
Essar construction's pipeline division has received $56 million nickel slurry pipeline project in Madagascar, Africa. This project is scheduled to complete within 13 months. The pipeline will transport nickel ore in slurry form from Ambatovy nickel cobalt mining ore to the port of Taomasina from where it will be exported. While SNC Lavalin, Canada is the EPCM contractor for the project, Essar will execute this pipeline project along with consolidated contractors group SAL, Greece.
