Jupiter Bioscience eyes acquisitions in US, Europe
March 29, 2008: Jupiter Bioscience Ltd is looking to acquire two companies, one each in the US and Europe, for a total consideration of about $15 million in 2008-09.
Jupiter would acquire the Swiss manufacturing unit of Merck Life Sciences for an undisclosed sum. Separately, it also signed a five-year deal to supply peptide building blocks to the European firm. The Merck plant will help Jupiter enter the bulk drugs segment in the regulated markets of Europe by the first quarter of 2009.
