Sheffield wins Russian steel plant contract
August 20, 2008: Engineering specialist Sheffield Forgemasters has won a GBP 1.75 million contract to produce mill housing for Russia’s latest generation steel plant.
The contract will provide Russia’s United Metallurgical Company with a cutting edge large scale plate rolling mill, enabling it to feed Russia's growing domestic demand for wider section steel plate. The mill will weigh more than 1000 tonnes when fully assembled.
