India's Largest Database on New Projects
28 August 2006: The Karnataka State high-level committee on 28 August
2006, cleared 40 large industrial proposals with a total investment potential of
Rs.62,864 crore.
The proposals cleared include Nine new SEZs for IT and ITES. This would
take the total SEZ tally in the state to 34. Nineteen of them have been cleared by the Board of Approval.
The mega projects of over Rs 50 crore investment each at various locations in the state will mean employment opportunities for 6.3 lakh people. Up to August this year, the committee has cleared 285 projects proposing a total investment of Rs 5,370 crore.
