Tata Tele to invest Rs.600 crore in telecom towers

14 May, 2008: Tata Indicom plans to invest Rs.600 crore to set up new telecom towers and enhance network in the eastern region.

Tata Indicom plans to add 713 BTS in the eastern region in this fiscal. It currently has a customer base of three million in east India and plans to add three million customer base. In the east currently, it has 1,774 base transceiver stations (BTS). With this, Tata Indicom will complete its Pan-India presence.

Tata Indicom also plans to foray into North east, Assam and Jammu and Kashmir by 15th August this year.

Tata Indicom is expected to invest Rs.290 crore in network building in North East.
