Mizoram is a mountainous region which became the 23rd State of the Indian Union in February, 1987. It is the second highest literate state in India, the state also has a very pleasant climate and is also rich in flora and fauna. 

Projects Investment

According to the 24th Quarterly Survey of Projects Investment conducted by Projects Today, as of 30 September 2006, the state had 39 projects worth Rs.1,985 crore in various stages of planning and implementation. 

The state had a projects implementation ratio of 30.7 per cent, which was far lower than the national average of 44.0 per cent. The government had more stake as compared to the private sector in the state’s projects investment.
